Billy Guest Obituary

Billy Charles Guest, better known as Chuck Guest and best known as Dad, crossed over while sleeping, Monday, April 10, 2017. He was born July 18, 1937 in Truman, Ark. to the late Charles and Esther (Lawrence) Guest and was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Lee Medlin, Lillian Hancock; and beloved World War II war-hero uncle, Gene Lawrence.
Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and excelled in shooting marksmanship while stationed in Germany. He worked for ""the man"" in aircraft and auto plants until starting Guest Painting & Decorating in Midland in 1969 where the reputation for his work ethic and flawless painting earned him decades of quiet success. He was always proud he had never paid ""not one dollar"" to advertise and his entire business came from word-of-mouth referrals.
Having survived raising a passel of children with former wife, Margaret Guest, they now all survive him: Mike Guest of Beaverton, Sarah Ladd Williamson of California, Orrin Ladd of Florida and Gail Ladd Sequin, Brenda Guest and Johnny Guest all of Midland. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, April, Kayla, Julaine, Alyx, Carson, Kristen, Beau, Clayton, and Sullivan; and seven great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Xander, Landon, Destiny, Emily, Andrew and Avery.
He is survived by his sister, Callie; and nephew, Larry Schmidt of Missouri and will be especially missed by nephew, John Hancock of Arkansas, who always called him Charles.
Chuck loved to dance even more than he loved to hunt and fish and would dance with his sweetheart, Mary-Jo Roebuck, as often as possible. His favorite way to spend time with his family was having everyone over for cook-outs and bonfires by his pond and enjoyed shooting pool with his grandsons.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. in Midland. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Those wanting to honor his memory can donate to the Sanford American Legion or ask a girl to a dance or take a kid fishing.
