Daisy M. Hepworth Stinson, 83, of Midland, went into the arms of her loving Savior on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, after a short illness.
She was born on Dec. 21, 1926 in Manistee, to Sam and Edna Hepworth, and grew up with 10 siblings in Pentwater. She married Robert Stinson in Saginaw on June 21, 1952.
After high school, Daisy got her teaching degree in 1952 at Goshen College, having earned a Bible Degree at Prairie Bible Institute in 1950. She was an elementary school teacher for over 33 years in Saginaw, Saginaw Twp., and Bangor school systems. She and Bob raised their boys in Bay City until moving to Midland in 1986 after retirement.
Daisy was a passionate follower of Christ - very active in her faith, often talking to others about her personal relationship with Christ and their need of Him as Savior. She and Bob worshipped at Calvary Baptist Church for the past 34 years, where Daisy will best be remembered as an enthusiastic greeter of visitors. In additional to her love of people, she also enjoyed crafts and had a passion for reading.
Daisy is survived by her husband, Robert; as well as sons, Bob (Vickie), Ted (Sue) of Midland, and Jim (Kelly) of Hope. Grandchildren include, Saba (Jim) Cordina, Zach Stinson, Joe (Kerri) Stinson, Jake (Sarah) Stinson, Mitch Stinson, Micah Stinson, Michelle (Matt) Andrews, Rick Stinson, and Ryan Stinson. She also had five great-grandchildren. Siblings surviving her include, Claude Hepworth, Sarah Christensen, Joy Valentin, and Florence Owen. She was predeceased by her parents and several siblings including, Mary, Gene, Daniel, David, Nola, and Hazel.
Daisy will be remembered at a service on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 6100 Perrine Rd., Midland, with Dr. Dan Dickerson officiating. Friends may call at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Daisy's memory to Calvary Baptist Church or Calvary Baptist Academy. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hospice and Bickford Cottage for their excellent loving care of their mother.

To The Stinson Family,
I hadn't seen Aunt Daisy in years but I will never forget visiting at the cabin in Grayling when I was a child. It is one of my happiest childhood memories. I will truly miss her and you will all be in my prayers at this time of loss.

Aunt Daisy and her family were a large part of my childhood, with summers at their cabin and visits to their home. Because of her and Uncle Bob, I know how to clean a fish (after catching it!) and pick blueberries. She had the soul of a teacher, with her nieces & nephews as well as with her students. We'll miss you, Aunt Daisy!

Dear Stinson Brothers: We are so sorry, yet rejoicing that your mother has left you, but knowing she is with Jesus and that it was her desire to go makes it a time of mixed blessings and feelings. Daisy was a good sister, mother, friend and grandmother and we will miss her greatly.
Love you,
Aunt Joy & Uncle Robert
