David Lee Brink
David Lee Brink, 56, of Midland, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born August 7, 1964 and raised by the late Lee Brink and Virginia (Bloom) Brink. David graduated from Herbert Henry Dow High School in 1982 and took a few classes at Delta College. He then went to work with Dow Chemical as a Lab Technician. David married his high-school sweetheart and love of his life, the late Kelly Lynn Finney-Brink on May 5, 1990.
In his early years, both David and his father, Lee had a hobby in hunting and fishing on their shared land at home. Later on, he was often found playing dice, doing yard work with his cherished dog, Zeena, and caring for his daughter, Willow. He was also an avid collector of comic books, baseball cards and classic cars. Specifically, David loved taking his treasured Dodge Challenger on joy rides in town while blasting classic rock and visiting the casinos in Mt. Pleasant. He will be remembered for his love of Star Trek, Slim Jims and his goofy humor.
David is survived by his daughter, Willow L. Brink (Dustin Perysian) of Midland; brother, Dan L. Brink; nephews, Daniel L. Brink Jr. and Charles L. Laplow of Midland; fiancée, Karlene M. Craig; and beloved family friend, Shawn L. Rickett and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Lynn Finney-Brink, as well as his parents, Lee and Virginia Brink.
Cremation has taken place and a grave-side memorial service will be at the New Hope Cemetery Chapel on Sunday, May 16, 2021. For those who wish to pay respects and condolences a memory book will be provided between 12-2p.m. until the time of service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at 2231 E. Shearer Rd. for those who wish to express further assistance and remembrance for both family and friends left behind.
