David Tompkins Obituary
David C. Tompkins (1942-2023) of Green Valley, AZ, passed away on March 5, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gayle, children Christine (John) Kulka and Dr. Brian (Cristina) Tompkins, and grandchildren Eliott Ishak, Justin Kulka, and Graeme Tompkins.
Dave was born at Tompkins County Hospital in Ithaca, NY, graduated from the University of Rochester, and received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Oregon.
Dave and Gayle raised their family in Midland, MI, where Dave worked for the Dow Chemical Company. He served the Lord and his community as a longtime member of Memorial Presbyterian Church (Midland) and Valley Presbyterian Church (Green Valley). Singing was one of Dave's greatest joys (topped only, perhaps, by his grandsons!) and he was a member of church choirs as well as a 21 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Memorial services in Green Valley and Midland will be held at later dates. Donations may be made to the Valley Presbyterian Music Fund (https://www.valleypresbyterian.net/).
