Edward Pnacek Obituary

Edward Pnacek
Edward L. Pnacek, 83, made his final journey on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. Ed was a Midland native, one of twelve children born to the late Frank and Anne (Grotkowski) Pnacek. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 82 Airborne Division; he was on duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ed went on to work at the U.S. Postal Service for over 40 years, but, his work did not stop there. He had been a member of the Midland Board of REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS for over 40 years, Ed was a REALTOR with MID-LAND REALTORS. Additionally, Ed has served as President and Vice President of F/A Pnacek LTD for 30 years, being a key force in the direction of the family-owned corporation.
Edward will be missed by his brothers and sisters, Mary Ann Chritz, Charles Pnacek, Barbara Rice, Michael (Janice Putt) Pnacek, Lucille (Gerald) Smith, Patrick Pnacek; sisters-in-law, Gail Pnacek and Sandy Pnacek; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Pnacek Jr., Joseph Pnacek, Henry Pnacek, and Stanley Pnacek; sister Agnes Novak; brother-in-law Leonard Chritz, Lawrence Novak and John Rice.
Family was everything to Ed. His nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces were all special to him. Ed was very interested in every relative and every child (in the family or not), you had better know what is going on with your children or he would let you know about it, and that you should.
Ed had many friends, but his two closest friends Sarah Johnston and Dan LeViere were there with him to the end.
Ed will be missed, each and every day, like he lived his life, he would tell you to Try Like Hell!
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Midland. Edward's family will receive friends at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland, on Friday from 12-4 p.m. and 5- 8 p.m. with a time for prayers and sharing at 7 p.m. on Friday, and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the liturgy.
