Irene Sparta Obituary
Irene (Foster)Sparta, formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully at her home in Stone Harbor, NJ. on January 20, 2024. Her husband, Thomas A. Sparta's career with Dow Chemical brought her to Midland, took her to Zurich, Switzerland, Athens, Greece and Milan,Italy. She was instrumental in starting the girls tennis program at Northeast Jr. High and was involved in the original fundraising for the Midland Tennis Center. Irene and her life long friend and business partner Doris Feagley, owned and operated The Cambridge House and Abbey Road clothing stores. After Tom's retirement, they split their time between their homes in Las Vegas, NV and Stone Harbor, NJ along with traveling and taking cruises. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 62 yrs, Thomas A. Sparta and her son Thomas A. Sparta Jr. She is survived by daughters Nancy Sparta, Patricia Langford, Julia (Shawn) Tracy and sons Michael (Beth) Sparta, Daniel (Angie) Sparta, Joseph (Adrianne) Sparta along with 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will celebrate her life August 2024 in Stone Harbor, NJ. Arrangements made by Radzieta Funeral Home. www.radzieta.com

My sister and I have fond memories of being backyard neighbors with the Spartas such as: Lots of backyard parties and going back and forth between houses, sitting on your roof garage getting into trouble, sharing an outside Christmas tree, the fact Tom and Irene hid all of your Christmas presents in our garage, shopping at the Cambridge house, the delicious homemade pasta sauce and all the other Sparta/Prince shenanigans!
