Larry Nash Obituary

Larry Nash
Larry Lee Nash passed away peacefully Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born to Jerome and Anabelle (Brown) Nash on January 4, 1945 in Big Rapids, Michigan. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University before pursuing a career as a Financial Professional with Equitable Financial.
Larry met the love of his life, Janice, playing Schmier at the Oasis in Bay City. He went on to marry her on January 25, 1975. They've been playing cards every single morning since (for money, of course).
Together, they raised Larry's son, Paul and Jan's three sons- Jim, Tim, and Jeff. After a couple years of chaos with four boys, they decided they needed a girl and had their daughter, Nicki.
The highlights of his life were spent at the basketball/volleyball courts, football fields & baseball fields of his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren- typically donning his #1 fan t-shirt. His voice was always the loudest and his postgame hugs were always the biggest.
Larry was a kind, gentle, generous, and forgiving man. He loved his wife and family more than life itself. He had wonderful times with his golf buddies, poker pals and many friends at Three Lakes in Florida and in Midland.
His wife, Janice, feels a tremendous loss and is heartbroken, but knows Larry will always be there to watch over her. She will miss her daily head massages, foot rubs & ritual morning cards (and she hopes he will guide her on how to work the TV).
Larry is survived by his wife, Janice Nash; sons, Paul (Chris) Nash, Jim (Karen) Mantyla, Tim (Sandy) Mantyla; daughter Nicki (Matt) Sabin; grandchildren, Aaron (Olivia) Maxwell, Taylor (Pat) Smith, Madison (Marshall) Eippert, Henry Sabin, Charlie Sabin, and Chet Sabin; as well as great grandchildren, Braylan Turner-Smith, Porter Smith and Desmond Smith.
Larry was greeted in heaven by his mother, Anabelle (Brown) Nash; his father, Jerome Nash; his sister, Janet Harrison and his son, Jeff Mantyla.
Between the cards, golf, sports games, and head rubs- you could find Larry spending time with the Lord. His legacy of forgiveness, love and faith will live on in his family.
A celebration of Larry's life will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Pastor Don Duford will officiate. His family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Miracle Field, https://www.midlandfoundation.org/fund/centralparkmiraclefield-01033/or Deacon of Hope, https://www.deaconofhope.org/.
