Linda Brennan Obituary

Linda Jean (Wells) Brennan, age 83, of Midland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Preston B. Wells and Floy (Clarke) Wells. Linda graduated in 1960 from Cooley High School and later attended Olivet College, where she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Brennan. They were married on June 5, 1965.
They bought their first home in Midland. It was here Linda actively participated in the Women's Optimist Club and focused on raising their daughters, Vicki and Jill. The family later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Linda served as a Girl Scout troop leader for many years. She and Dick also joined a square dancing community and made many lasting friendships there.
In 1985, the family returned to Midland where Linda worked for Dow Chemical/Dow Corning until her retirement. It was at this time, she was also a founding Co-Regional Supervisor for the Great Lakes Region of the United States Pony Club, and remained a lifetime member.
In retirement, Linda and Dick spent their summers at the family cottage in Blind River, Ontario, Canada, long considered a second home. The lake was a place where friends, family, and adopted family gathered year after year, and Linda cherished the time and memories made there. She and Dick also enjoyed several cruise trips with their group of friends throughout the Caribbean and a tour of Italy. When at home, Linda enjoyed being an active member of the Red Hat Society, sharing friendship and fun with her fellow members.
Linda's deepest love was her family. She lived with Alzheimer's disease in her later years with the same grace, patience, and gentleness that defined her throughout her life.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bickford of Midland, especially the caregivers in the Memory Care community known as Mary B's. Their compassion, patience, and kindness over the past year and a half brought comfort, dignity, and joy to Linda's life, and their care will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard Brennan; sister, Patricia (Ned) Davis of Sun City, AZ; daughters, Vicki (Mike) Stroud of Grand Haven, MI, and Jill (Grant) McConaughy of Midland, MI; grandchildren, Brendan Stroud, Megan Stroud, Matthew Stroud, and Maple McConaughy; nieces, Jacki (Fred) Dodd and Tanya Snape; and grand-niece Haley (Shae) Smith and their children, Amelia and Annalise.
A memorial celebration with Linda's family and friends will be announced at a later date.

Dick,
Bill and I did not know Linda, but just wanted you to know we are sorry for Linda's passing. We have lived in Arizona for 25 years having tired of the cold, snow and ice. Bill has had a low case dementia for 3 years now. Luckily for me, he is a happy person like the one you got to know at Dow.
Again, we are sorry for Linda's passing and hope as you travel down the road and you think of her, it will begin to bring you peace.

Linda was a good friend to Jerry and I, each summer as she was staying at the camp on Lake Matinenda. We shared many dinner parties ,boat trips and fishing outings. May she rest in peace.
