Maddison Rice Obituary
Maddison Marie Rice, of Harrison, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Clare, at age 8. Maddie was born June 17, 2004, in Midland, the daughter of Jared Rice and Jessica Blatt.
Maddie enjoyed dancing, swimming, riding dirt bikes, and caring for her animals. She loved being outside where she enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding her bicycle, playing volleyball, soccer, and football. Maddie enjoyed playing and jumping on her trampoline, reading books, and writing short stories. She also enjoyed drawing and styling her hair. Like most children Maddie especially enjoyed playing with her friends and help caring for her sister and brother. She will be dearly missed.
Maddie is survived by her parents, Jessica L. Blatt of Bay City, Jared M. Rice and girlfriend, Samantha Bellhorn of Coleman; sister, Aubrey Lynn Rice of Bay City; brother, Jake Anthony Schacher, also of Bay City; maternal grandparents, Roger "Papa" and Connie "Grandma" Blatt of Harrison; paternal grandparents, Michael "Papa" and Lisa "Nana" Rice of Coleman; maternal great-grandparents, Vern and June Norman of Harrison; paternal great-grandparents, Dan and Edith "Vi" Rice of Midland, and Robert and Wilma Letts of Midland; aunt, Jessica Rice of Sanford; nephews, Logan and Michael Rice of Sanford; and many aunts uncles, cousins and many, many, dear friends.
Funeral service will take place Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home with Executive Pastor Tim Fall officiating. Visitation will take place Friday, July 27, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
