Marlene Tetu Obituary

Marlene Tetu
Marlene Tetu, 86, of Midland passed away early morning Monday, June 27, 2022, at Stratford Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Clair and Velma (Heath) Joslin, Marlene was born on March 26, 1936. She was a graduate of Gladwin High School and continued her education at NE School of Communication in Bay City. It was there where she met the love of her life, the late Frank Tetu, whom she married in Gladwin, MI. on December 31, 1955. Marlene was employed at Chemical Bank for many years until her retirement. She was also employed as a broker assistant at A.G. Edwards and Thomson McKinnon Securities. She was a long-time member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she volunteered at luncheons, helping with the linens, and sewing for missions.
She was a great seamstress, had a special talent for making Raggedy Ann dolls. She was a tremendous cook and enjoyed gardening around her house. Marlene loved her family very much and never missed a family birthday party or event.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Ann (John) Phillips of Midland, Daniel F. (Pamela) Tetu of Midland, Jeffrey P. (Tammi) Tetu of Traverse City, and Susan R. (Charles) Goff of Midland; grandchildren and their spouses, Courtney, Kyle, Lucas, Grant, Claire, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Hannah; six great grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law Kay Joslin; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband Frank Tetu, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Delbert Joslin and Don Joslin and his wife Marie Joslin.
Marlene's family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Stratford Pines and Promedica/Heartland Hospice.
Services for Marlene will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 3109 Swede Ave, Midland. Father Robert Howe will officiate with burial at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Marlene's family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home 1200 West Wheeler Street for visitation on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. and again at the church Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
