Mary Ellen Tucker
Mary Ellen (Sherlock) Tucker, 83 of Sanford, Michigan died Saturday, February 25 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was born on January 17, 1940 in Midland, MI to William Eugene and Lillian (Sexton) Sherlock. She graduated from Midland High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Tucker on February 11, 1959 and had five beautiful children and six grandchildren. Mary and Gerald just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Mary was dedicated to her entire family and was an active parent in all her children and grandchildren's lives. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and volunteered for variety of events. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, cross-stitch, knitting and cooking. Mary immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She spread warmth and kindness to anyone who she encountered.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Tucker, her children: Teresa (Mark) Holbrook of Boise, ID, Michael Tucker of Sanford, Matt (Donna) Tucker of Bay City, Susan Tucker of Royal Oak and MaryJo (Dennis) Warner of Plymouth, MI. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, Patrick, Andrew, Keara, Justin, Jarret and Joshua. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Joe (Fran) Sherlock, sisters-in-law Lois Tucker, Barbara Klein and Wava Horton and several special nieces and nephews and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Eugene and Lillian Sherlock and her sister Elizabeth Rathbun.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace with Fr. Dan Fox, OFM Cap. officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5-7 pm at Smith-Miner Funeral Home and on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at New Calvary Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in her honor.
