Michael Siminski Obituary

Michael Frank Siminski Sr., 70, of Stanwood and formerly of Midland, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at the Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center, Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 28, 1944, in Bay City, son of the late Valentine and Seraphina (Wisniewski) Siminski. Mike attended Bay City schools, graduating from high school there. He married the former Mary Rose Ortiz on June 19, 1965, at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Midland.

He was a master craftsman for The Dow Chemical Co., retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering, refinishing furniture and was a huge Detroit Lions fan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Michelle (Russell) Worsley; and one son, Michael (Jana) Siminski Jr.; grandchildren, Jackson and Jay Worsley and Sam and Abigail Siminski; two brothers, Eugene Siminski and Richard (Joann) Siminski; one sister, Corrine (Robert) Pajak; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carrie Cisneros, John Ortiz, Alicia (Maynard) Hughes, Ray (Doris) Ortiz, Ginny (Gary) Smith, Maggie (Terry) Calkins, Marty (Keith) Stewart, Felix (Becki) Ortiz and Robert (Julie) Ortiz; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Siminski; and one brother-in-law, Gilbert Ortiz.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 from St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. Father Patrick O'Connor will officiate. Mike's family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the liturgy.
