Patricia L'Hirondelle Obituary

Patricia Joan L'Hirondelle (nee Willis) passed away peacefully in the presence of family at Nanaimo General Hospital on October 13, 2011.

She was born in Ottawa, raised in Saskatchewan, and moved to BC in 1950. Pat was larger than life, charitable, intelligent, and delightful. Mom and Dad raised their three children in North Vancouver. She excelled at golf, curling, and bridge. She and her husband lived in Nanaimo since 1978. The 7 – 10 club, Operation Eyesight, and her local church were her greatest loves on the island. Mom enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time in the sun. Mom would make her family favourite raspberry jam, which she rarely shared. Mom is survived by children John (Mindy), Judy (Margalo), and Paul (Fran). Grandchildren include Jared (Elleni), Heather (Cory), Jayme, Eva, David, and Axl. She will be sadly missed by all she left on earth. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20, 2011, 2:00pm in the Chapel of Bethlehem Retreat Centre, 2371 Arbot Rd., Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, friends please consider a contribution to Operation Eyesight Universal by contacting 1-800-585-8265 ext. 1, or a charity of your choice. We will miss you Paddy.
