Paulette A. Schiappa, 82 of Midland, passed away Friday evening, October 4, 2024 at her home. She was born January 5, 1942 in Patton, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Paul and Patricia (Penn) Schwab. Paulette attended school in Patton and went on to earn her associates degree from Penn State University. It was here that she met her best friend and love of her life, Carl Schiappa. Paulette worked as a medical tech for the Cleveland Hospital before she and Carl moved to Midland where she continued her career. After her children were born, Paulette transformed her profession as a med tech to becoming a full-time mother and wife, fully invested in raising and caring for her family. She was involved as a Scout Leader for the Girl Scouts as her daughters went through the program. Paulette also spent decades as an active Avon Lady in the Midland area. She was a puzzle enthusiast who especially enjoyed crosswords and Sudoku. Paulette found great joy in spending time with her friends over the years on bowling leagues, tennis courts, golf courses, and at card tables. She and Carl also enjoyed spending their winters in Marana, Arizona. More than anything, Paulette loved the time she filled with her four precious grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Carl Schiappa; daughters, Dana Kennedy and Terri (Mark) Setterington; grandchildren, Andrew (Valerie) Kennedy, Kaitlyn (Jordan) Stoltzfus, Taylor Setterington, and Zoe Setterington; and great grandchildren, Claire and Samuel. In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her son-in-law Patrick Kennedy.
Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service for the family will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
