Berneice Cobb Obituary

Owatonna - Berneice Cobb, 101, passed away October 26, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (512 S. Elm Ave, Owatonna). Friends may greet the family from 4:00-6:00 PM Wednesday, November 5 at Brick Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Berneice was born in Colby, WI, on August 27, 1924, to William C. Pacholke and Matilda Pacholke. She graduated as the salutatorian with honors from Colby High School in 1941. She then attended vocational school in Eau Claire, WI, taking secretarial courses. She worked in the office of the parts warehouse at International Harvester in Eau Claire, where she met Casper. She married Casper "Cap" Cobb June 7, 1947. They shared forty-eight and a half years of marriage together. They lived in many towns in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but the last sixty-three years were in Owatonna. The couple had five daughters. Berneice later worked part-time at the United Methodist church as a secretary.

She loved being a volunteer and received the WCCO Radio "Good Neighbor" award for volunteerism. She was the Girl Scout neighborhood chairman. She co-chaired the St. Joseph Church funeral luncheon committee for 35 years. She volunteered at the food shelf for 26 years and many years at the senior center and hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, sewing clothes and quilts for the missions, bowling, crosswords, dancing with Cap, line dancing and she was an avid reader.

Berneice is survived by her five daughters: Mary Ann (Keith) Kuehl, Patricia (Donald) Billing, Virginia Culhane, Carolyn (Rick) Duffney, and Rochelle (Allan) Spatenka; 9 grandchildren: Krista (Wes) Hoeper, Jake (Sarah) Kuehl, Adam (Crystal) Billing, Bryce (Laura) Billing, Kathryn (Gabriel) Purdie, Jack Culhane, Aaron (Kerri) Jacobson, Mariah Spatenka, and Laura (Eddy) Rentas; 16 great-grandchildren, granddaughter-in-law Stacie Kuehl, and sister Yvonne (Harold) Mueller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother William F. "Bud" Pacholke, grandson Jared Kuehl, and infant granddaughter Christine Jacobson.
