David "Porky" Hemingway

Ellendale - At the age of 80, David ("Porky") Hemingway passed away quietly at home in the arms of his wife on Friday, October 31, 2025. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Melinda.

David will forever be remembered by his wife of 32 years, Deborah; son, Brant (Noris); daughter, Colette (Max); stepchildren, Wendy (Jason), Susan (Eric), Lara; grandchildren, Benjamin (Abbi), Daniel (Erin), Naomi (Mark), Sarah (AJ), Madeleine, Hunter; step-grandchildren, Aracelis, Greydon, Evelyn, Livia; great-grandchild Elliana; sister, Audrey (Gene), brother, Jerry (Shirley), and brother, Calvin (Barb). He will also be dearly missed by his best friend Robert Wayne (Lisa), nieces, nephews, coffee buddies, schoolmates, and numerous other family members and friends who were touched by his easy humor and generous heart.

David's birth certificate states that he was born on March 31. But his Aunt Elaine later insisted that he was actually born at home on April Fools' Day. This "believe it or not" story perfectly fit his mischievous grin and lifelong sense of humor.

A Celebration of Life- open house will be held on Saturday, Nov 22, 2025, from 10:00 - 1:00 p.m., at United Methodist Church, 200 6th St N, Ellendale, MN.

Memorial donations in David's name, may be made to Heifer International, a global nonprofit- working to eradicate poverty and hunger.
