METROPOLIS, Ill. - Alan L. Sharp, 70, of Metropolis, passed away at 12:43 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Chris Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Alan was retired from retail sales, of the Baptist faith, loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and was a member of the Massac County Historical Society.
Alan is survived by his mother, Betty L. (Dills) Sharp; wife of 20 years, Linda (Ruoff) Sharp; sons, David Gavin Sharp and Edward Alan Sharp and wife Samantha; grandchildren, Alyssa Sharp, Sierra Sharp, Noah Sharp, and Henry Sharp; brother, Paul Sharp and wife Kathy; and several nieces and nephews.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, George E. Sharp.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Alan's name to Project Hope Humane Society, P.O. Box 125, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
