Ben Adams, a devoted family man, skilled craftsman, and man of quiet warmth, passed away peacefully at his home in Paducah, Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on July 11, 1950, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, Ben was the beloved son of the late Thelma Love and Ben Walter Adams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Adams; and his sister, Cleda Tucker.
Ben worked as an electrician for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Outside of work, he will be remembered as a quiet, kind, and funny man whose true passions lay in baseball, art, animals, nature, and, of course, music.
His family was his greatest pride. Ben was a loving husband to his wife, Beverly "Cookie" Sills. Together, they realized a unique dream: building their earth-sheltered home, which included a greenhouse that provided passive solar heat to the whole house. This home was a haven where Ben planted a beautiful pine grove, enjoyed gardening his own fruits and vegetables, and raised his children. In later years, his grandchildren also grew to love spending holidays there, with fond memories of sledding downhill from the roof in the snow.
He was a devoted father to his son, David Adams, and his daughter, Sarah Fabian. Ben passed on his love for baseball to David, even having the joy of coaching his son's Little League team. He supported Sarah's interests just as enthusiastically, attending her dance recitals with pride.
Ben was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather, making sure his love for music, animals, nature, and art were passed down to the next generations. He leaves behind his wife, Beverly; his children, David and Sarah; his cherished grandchildren: Autumn Douglas (31), Hayley Douglas (27), Makenzie Adams (25), Vanessa Adams (21), and Lincoln Fabian (10); and his precious great-grandson, Myles Cork (1).
