ARLINGTON - David "Rocky" Duane Dubrock, 91, of Arlington, went home to his savior on Monday, July 7, 2025.
David was born in Marinette, Wisconsin, on Aug. 4, 1933, to the late Walter George Dubrock and Estelle Dahn Dubrock Willacker. He joined the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Arlington Methodist Church, where he served as a Methodist youth leader and lay leader of the church. David served the Arlington community as a pharmacist, where he owned and operated "Dubrock Drugs" with his wife, Catherine, for 31 years. After his retirement from the store, he provided relief-work for local Pharmacies until he was 87 years old. David volunteered much of his time with numerous community organizations, including serving as a board member for the Carlisle County Department of Health and was an active member in the Kentucky Pharmacist Association, where he held various positions.
When David was away from the Pharmacy, he could usually be found working on the family farm. He loved being in the outdoors as much as possible where hunting and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes. David enjoyed taking his family to Kentucky Lake where they enjoyed sunshine and boating. David had a traveler's spirit, and his joy to see new places took he and his family to many places across the United States, as well as a trip overseas to Australia. David had a deep passion for sports since childhood and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Faith, family and friendship was what David held most dear. He always took the time to entertain family and friends with a fish fry or barbecue at his home. This included extending his hospitality to ministers, family and friends who would pass through the area. He will be remembered by those closest to him as being the most loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.
David is survived by his five daughters, Mary Lane Sirls (Danny) of Hardin, Elise Kinsey (John) of Sedalia, Debbie Hooper of Paducah, Terri Dubrock of Aurora, and Krista Dahn Yarbrough (Eric) of Bardwell; one son, Duane Dubrock (Amy) of Paducah; a brother, Donald Dubrock (Donna) of Louisville; 20 grandchildren, Peter Tran (Cam), Wesley Sirls, Heather Burgess (Dustin), Jason Mardis (Shianna), Barclay Dubrock Hartman, Nathan Kinsey, Brock Mardis, Brook Gaudy (Jeromy), Perry Hooper (Carrie), Carson Dubrock, Katherine Beals (Matthew), Austin Willis (Kayna), Brecken Mardis, Madalyn Willis, Koleman Yarbrough, Joey Willis, Kale Yarbrough (Autumn), Davis Dubrock, Kollier Yarbrough; 21 great-grandchildren, Aolani, Samara, Joe, Jalynn, Kinsey, Heidi, Cadence, Jared, Kasyn, Hunter, Jaxon, McKenna, Victor, Basil, Israel, Kopeland, Elizabeth, Zari, Andy, Chassie, and Gatlin; one great-great-grandson, Bryce; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Barclay Dubrock; three sisters, Mae Trudell, Alice Williker, and Helen Smith; six brothers, Ralph Dubrock, Vernon Dubrock, Harvey Dubrock, Leslie Dubrock, John Dubrock, and Kendrick Dubrock; a grandson, Kameron Keith Morgan; his parents, Walter George Dubrock, Estelle Dahn Dubrock Willacker, and his step-father, George Louis Willacker.

Our families shared so many happy times together along the banks of the Mississippi on scores of Sunday afternoons. I never saw David Dubrock without a smile and a cigar! Hanging out with Lane at the drugstore after school is a special childhood memory that I will cherish. David was a caring professional who gave both his knowledge and his compassion to thousands of people through the years. He will be missed by many.

What a great person and friend. He taught me so much growing up in Carlisle County. My family and I will miss him dearly. May god bless his soul.
