Deborah Higdon Obituary

Deborah Jo Higdon, known lovingly as Debbie, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, in Paducah, Kentucky.

Debbie was born on July 17, 1953, in Paducah to Leslie Raymond Godsey and Rena Bell Jones Godsey. A member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Debbie lived her faith through service and compassion. She enjoyed writing poetry, cooking for loved ones, and tending to her beautiful garden. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality made every gathering special. Debbie was a kind and caring soul whose life was filled with faith, creativity, and love for others.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Bernard "Bernie" Higdon, and one cousin, Marlene Neihoff of Metropolis, Illinois, along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and close friends and neighbors that she loved deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral mass will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Clark. Officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: McCracken County Humane Society, 4000 Coleman Road, Paducah, KY 42001.
