Harry Dennis Myers, 70, passed away peacefully around 4 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, after a courageous 25-year battle with cancer. He had just celebrated his 70th birthday on Nov. 19, 2025.
Dennis, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was known for his remarkable work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He retired from USEC then Mid-American Conversions after more than 40 years of working for the Department of Energy, ensuring his loved ones had every opportunity possible. A man who took great pride in the home he built and the land he cared for, he farmed, kept his property beautiful, and spent countless hours tinkering in his building across the field. He especially enjoyed riding his tractors, four-wheeler, and Ranger, simple pleasures that brought him real joy.
In his retirement, Dennis and his wife, Cathy, traveled often, exploring new places together on their many RV trips, usually with an Irish Setter and Dachshund in tow. Over the years, he had a deep love for his dogs: his Irish Setter Remi, who preceded him in death; his loyal Dachshund of 13 years, Sofie Sue; and his most recent Irish Setter, Ruby Jo, who brought him endless comfort and companionship.
Dennis was a man of Christian faith who believed deeply in the power of prayer. Throughout his illness, he and his family felt strengthened and uplifted by every prayer spoken on his behalf, and they remain grateful for the love and spiritual support offered to them.
Though a man of few words, Dennis expressed his love through hard work, service, and presence. His humor, playful teasing, and silly made-up songs will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Most of all, he deeply cherished his children and grandchildren, taking pride in each of them and the lives they are building.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Myers; his children Perry (Kimberly) Myers, Katy (Jess) Park, and Taylor (Kayla) Myers; and his grandchildren Kaleb, Adalyn, and Kynlee. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorris Myers; his brother, Doug Myers; and his beloved Irish Setter, Remi.
Dennis leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, dedication, and unwavering love. His memory will be forever treasured by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The Myers family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for Dennis over the years, especially Dr. Polly LeBuhn, Dr. Wederson Claudino, the staff at Mercy Health - Paducah Cancer Center, and Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Milner and Orr Funeral Home, located on Memorial Drive in Paducah.
