Dr. Kelli S. Barnett, passed away on Jan. 20, 2025, in UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California, of cancer.
Kelli had an incredible life after graduating from Paducah Tilghman. She attended Agnes Scott College in Atlanta and then completed her bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville. Subsequently, she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State Veterinary Medical School. She traveled to work in Southern California and worked at Pacific Marine Mammal Center in La Jolla working with and rescuing sea lions and seals. After that, she continued her education with a masters in Molecular Pathology and worked at UCLA Research for two years with
vervet monkeys.
After this, she worked as a spay/neuter surgeon for nonprofits all across Los Angeles. After 25 years, she decided to change fields. Kelli graduated from CSU-LA with an MBA and obtained her CPA license in 2024. She continued to work on weekends doing spay/neuter work for the county while she was a CPA during the week.
Away from work, Kelli loved to spend time at the beach, attended lot of concerts, and fervently rooted for the LA Dodgers, New Orleans Saints, and University of Louisville teams. Kelli loved to travel and her favorites were Amsterdam, Belgium, Paris, and South Africa.
Kelli is survived by her parents, Rex and Jami Feezor; brother, Justin; nephews, Parker and Owen; and her cat/best friend, Ami'.
Per her wishes, Kelli was cremated, and her ashes were spread across the ocean at Long Beach, California, by her home.
Anyone wishing to express their condolences, please consider her favorite charities: Heifer International, Feeding America, Midnight Mission in Los Angeles, or Riverside County Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley, California.

I am so sorry to hear this bad news and still so young. Kelli would work with organizing joint alumni events with the SoCal UK Alumni Club and Derby Days at Santa Anita.
