Loretta Ramey Williams, 90, passed away at 12:32 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.
Loretta was born on Sept. 16, 1935, in Lyon County, Kentucky, Land Between the Lakes, to Ross William Ramey and Susie Flora McGough Ramey. She was a proud graduate of Lyon County High School and was a graduate of Draughon's Business College. Loretta was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the nursery for many years. Loretta's early jobs included being a waitress at Kentucky Dam Village State Park and as a secretary at National Carbide in Calvert City.
Loretta and her husband met at Cardinal Lanes in Paducah and became bowlers in a league, and they were working at different plants in Calvert City. She retired from the Paducah Board of Education after 26 years, where she served as secretary in the Special Education Department. Loretta enjoyed watching the University of Kentucky basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Loretta was very strong-willed and independent, still driving and living alone when she celebrated her 90th birthday in September of this year.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Kevin) Harper of Paducah, Kentucky; two sons, Gary (Angela) Williams of Paducah and Terry (Elizabeth) Williams of Greensboro, North Carolina; one brother, Dwight D. (Susan) Ramey of Sherman Texas; four grandchildren: Aaron (Isabelle) Williams, Shelbie (Landon) Evans, Emily Williams and Jake Williams; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her husband, Billy Joe Williams; one sister, Imogene Ramey; two brothers, Woodrow Ramey and Thomas Ramey; and her parents.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home.
