OCALA, Fla. - Richard Don Elliott, 78, passed away on Dec. 27, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Born on Jan. 11, 1946, in Paducah, Kentucky, he lived a life marked by dedication to service, craftsmanship, and community.
Richard devoted over three decades of his career as an instructor for the Kentucky Firefighter Association. His commitment to training and mentoring generations of firefighters left a lasting impact across the state.
Faith played an important role in Richard's life. He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual grounding.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Richard R. Elliott, Carol Hoffmann, and Shanna Scott; his granddaughter Nicole Nickols; and his sister, Sharrie McWhirter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Raymond and Bessie Elliott.
In honor of Richard's lifelong dedication to fire service and community safety, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to your local volunteer fire department or to the National Firefighter Association.
