Ruby Elizabeth Hayden Gibson, 98, of Melber, passed into eternal life on Feb. 11, 2026.
Ruby was born July 1, 1927, to the late Charles Jesse Hayden, Sr. and Anna Bell Bullock Hayden, in the Saint John community of McCracken County. She was a member of Rosary Chapel Catholic Church.
Ruby retired from the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Paducah after 45 years of employment there.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Gibson, of Melber; sisters-in-law, Joyce Gibson and Margaret Rust; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 62 years, Billy Thomas Gibson; and siblings, Dorothy Hayden, Burnell Hayden, Charles Jesse Hayden Jr., Georgia Collier, Edna Peeler, Thomas Millard Hayden, and Frances Cocke.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Jude Okeoma officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Rosary Chapel Catholic Church, 711 Ohio Street, Paducah, KY 42002; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
