CALVERT CITY - Stella E. Moore, 84, of Calvert City, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2024, at her home.
Born July 18, 1940, in Hickman County, she was the daughter of William D. and Dorothy Stout Moore of Columbus. She graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1958 and Draughon's Business College of Paducah. Stella retired from Dr. J.P. Lyles' Optometry office in Calvert City. She cherished the wonderful friendships she made and the years she worked there. She attended Salt and Light Church.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Jessie Deen Moore of Calvert City; one daughter, Angela Pomnitz (Todd) of Clarksville, Tennessee; one son, Mark Moore of Calvert City; two grandchildren, S. Kyle (Claudia) of Paducah, and Jessica Suggs (Cam) of Greenbrier, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Maggie Suggs, Camden Suggs, and Molly Suggs also of Greenbrier. She is also survived by five brothers, Buster Moore of Clinton, Archie Moore (Patty) of Columbus, Luther Moore (Nancy) of Wickliffe, J.C. Moore of Berkley, and William David Moore of Water Valley, Kentucky; two sisters, Mary Howe of Paragould, Arkansas, and Paulette Cannon (Steve) of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents, William D. and Dorothy Stout Moore, George Haney, and Clara Haney; four brothers, Dub L.W. Moore, George Moore, infant, Bobby Ray Moore, and Paul Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center, 1530 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, Kentucky, 42003.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
