Emma Nestler Obituary
Born in Sparta, New Jersey to Edwin and Marguerite Reed, after graduating from Rockaway High School she became a registered nurse through the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. While training at Passaic General Hospital she met her future husband, Rick Nestler. They lived in Colombia S.A., Germany, Illinois, and California, raising four children along the way. Emma worked alongside Rick in his medical practice and was deeply involved in her church and community. Known for her warmth, she welcomed everyone like family.
Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years and sister Lois, she is survived by her brother Robert (Katie), her children Connie (Elisa), William, Paul (Mary), and Stella (Steve), nephew Larry, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on April 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Westview Presbyterian Church in Watsonville (and on Zoom), with a reception following. Donations may be made to Westview Presbyterian Church in her honor.
