Maria Alvarez Obituary
Born in Santa Monica, Ms. Alvarez was raised in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. There she met and married Jesus Alvarez on April 4, 1956, together they raised six children. In 1961, the family moved back to California where they lived in Watsonville for 48 years.
Ms. Alvarez enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling to Mexico to visit family, but what she really loved was spending time with her loving family. She will be missed dearly by her family and numerous friends.
Ms. Alvarez is survived by her children, Alfredo, Ruben, Arturo, Johnny and Lupe Alvarez. She also leaves behind her brother, Juventino Romo, as well as eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her daughter Maria Alvarez, as well as siblings Hilberto, Josefina, Eusebio, Piedad and Paulita.
A viewing will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Feb. 11, 2021 from 9am to 10:40am, followed by a funeral mass at Assumption Church at 11am and burial at Valley Catholic Cemetery at noon.
