Gary Dare Obituary

Gary William Dare

Richmond - Gary William Dare, age 65, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Reid Health after a long illness.

Gary was born on February 22, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, to Byron W. and Dorothy Zuber Dare. He was a graduate of Eaton High School and earned a degree in agricultural engineering from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. After college, Gary worked in marketing and sales for FMC Corporation in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. He returned to Richmond in 1986 and entered into a career of farming, which he enjoyed for the last 30 years. Gary's interests also included architecture, and he designed beautiful spaces. Gary loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing Sudoku on his computer, and following the stock market. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Gary will be deeply missed by his wife of 29 years, Diane D'Amico Dare; father, Byron W. Dare of Richmond; brother, Jeff (Pam) Dare of Eaton, Ohio; brother-in-law, David A. D'Amico of Sarasota, Florida; nieces; nephews; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; brothers, Greg and Jim Dare; paternal and maternal grandparents; and his cherished dog, Sandy.
