Bill Maus Obituary

William J. "Bill" Maus, 82, of East Palatka passed from this life on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he resided in Putnam County for 37 years coming from Washington, D.C. Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (CMSGT) following 28 years of honorable service in the U.S. Air Force. He was an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church where he was a Eucharist minister, a reader, an usher and also taught the Eucharist ministry. Bill was likewise a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking and loved animals.
Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy Maus, a son, Alan Maus, 2 daughters, Robbie Sue Maus (Bruce Koch) and Christine Maus, 2 brothers, Charles Maus (Sallie) and Joseph Maus (Lisa), a grandchild, Robbie Maus (Amanda), 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden Maus, Neveah Maus, Amora Maus and Miah Maus and numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at St. Monica Catholic Church with Father Jared DeLeo as officiant. Burial will follow on Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors presented by the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
