Earlier today
Cat was an unexpected friend, made under often tense circumstances. She was a wonderful and amazing influence on the kids we dealt with. "You need to stay in your lane." She had patience, seemingly infinite, but when it was gone, nobody was safe. Her compassion was focused and her firm rules unshakeable. For me, she was funny, smart and intolerant of fools. She loved her kids and her God. We only spoke occasionally in recent years, but she will always be a heroine to me.
