Claude B. Shiver Sr.

Claude B. Shiver Sr., 90, of Interlachen, FL, was called home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2025.
He was born December 18, 1934, in Jacksonville, FL, where he attended Andrew Jackson High School and Jones College graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
Claude was preceded in death by his son, Dale Shiver; and mother, Faye Avinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mayrine Shiver; sons Claude Shiver Jr. (Marsha), David Shiver, Jeffrey Shiver (Pam), Keith Chappell (Suzanne), Benny Chappell, and Chris Chappell; grandchildren, Michael Shiver (Ashley), Thomas Shiver (Laura), Joshua Shiver (Rebekah), Kayla Mims (Justin), Brooke Shiver, Emily Chappell, Chazz Chappell (Courtney), and Kameron Stewart; and 11 great-grandchildren, who all brought him immense pride and joy.
Claude lived a life of strong work ethic, steady leadership, and deep devotion to his family and his faith. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as crew chief with CV-FASRON Submarine Hunters during the Cuban Missile Crisis before joining the Reserves where he retired as Chief Petty Officer after 15 years and was a member of the CPO Club Mayport. Claude retired from a successful management career with Western Electric & Bell South Services after 38-years of dedication. He loved spending time with his family at his lake, fishing and enjoying the beautiful sunsets, always with his beloved pet by his side.
He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL for many years serving as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He and Mayrine retired to their lake house in Interlachen, FL in 2006, where they joined First Baptist Church, and he served as a Trustee and Sunday School teacher. Claude was a faithful servant of the Lord, and his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Interlachen, 115 CR 315, Interlachen, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Interlachen in memory of Claude B. Shiver.
