Cynthia Laverne Oxendine

Cynthia Laverne Hagans Oxendine, 71, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring, St. Augustine.
Cynthia was born on Wednesday, May 12, 1954, to Wilvern and Dorothy (James) Hagans Sr., in Palatka, Florida. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a graduate of Palatka Central High School Class of 1972. Shortly thereafter, on June 14, she married her soul mate, Eddie Oxendine Jr. Together, they raised three sons, Eddie III, Kenneth and Eric.
Cynthia was a loving mother and wife who made sure her husband was always taken care of. Nothing or no one could prevent her from doing that. In addition to her love for family, Cynthia enjoyed fishing and doing crossword puzzles. She was employed as a secretary at Prestige Maintenance Landscaping Company.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in eternal rest by her paternal grandparents, Herbert and Estelle Hagans; maternal grandparents, Willie and Addie James Sr.; brothers, Willie Hagans Sr. and Nathaniel Hagans; mother-in-law, Helen Oxendine.
Loving memories of Cynthia remain with her devoted husband, Eddie Oxendine Jr.; loving sons, Eddie Oxendine III, Kenneth (Shawona) Oxendine and Eric (Talisa) Oxendine; brothers, Michael Hagans Sr., Minot, ND; Alphonso Hagans, Palatka; Wilvern Hagans Jr., Satsuma; sister, Fay (Robert) Hagans-Council, Fayetteville, NC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lonnie (Brenda) Oxendine, J.T. Oxendine, Alvin Oxendine, Melvin Oxendine, Delvin Oxendine, Leon Oxendine, Cherri Ann Oxendine, Earline Oxendine, Mamie Oxendine; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service in honor of Cynthia's life will be 1 p.m., Saturday, October 4, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity."
