Martha Daugherty Obituary

On November 30, 2025, Martha peacefully went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness at Flagler Hospital. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful - grateful for her life, her love, her example, and the countless ways she shaped each of us.
On July 18, 1934, in Marlboro Township, Ohio, God blessed the world with Martha Rose, the youngest of sixteen children born to Walter and Luella Bahler. Being the baby of such a large family taught her early how to love deeply, laugh often, and hold tight to her faith - gifts she carried with her and created a foundation for her life.
On September 10, 1955, she married her sweetheart, Charles Daugherty, and together they built a life filled with devotion, hard work, and love. They settled in Ravenna, Ohio, where they raised their four children: Judy, Howard, Linda, and Darla. Martha spent 28 years at Evenflo, proudly helping create products for babies - fitting work for a woman whose heart was always centered on caring for others.
In 1981, she and Charles moved to Welaka, Florida, where Martha found not only a new home but a new family within her church and community. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Welaka for more than 30 years and later Welaka Baptist Church. Martha didn't just attend church - she lived her faith every day. Whether organizing a meal, helping with events, or simply offering a warm hug or gentle encouragement, she gave her whole heart. Even after losing her eyesight, she never stopped serving. She found ways to keep helping, keep loving, and keep giving - because that's who she was.
To her family, Martha was our center - the steady, loving presence we all leaned on. She had a way of making each of us feel seen, heard, and cherished. Her advice was always rooted in love and guided by faith. She prayed for us, supported us, and taught us what true strength looks like. She didn't just talk about her faith; she lived it in every word, every action, every sacrifice.
Martha was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Charles; her children Howard, Darla, Judy and Linda; and her daughter-in-law Pamela. While we grieve deeply, we also feel peace knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and resting in the gentle arms of her Savior.
She leaves behind her grandchildren - Michael Rhodaback, Melissa Wilkinson, Steven Daugherty, Danyell Daugherty, Jeremy Frank, and Christopher Frank - and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to feel her love in the stories we share and the lives we live.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Welaka Baptist Church, 670 3rd Ave, Welaka, on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., with the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by food and fellowship as we gather to honor the beautiful life of a woman who meant everything to us.
Memories and condolences may be expressed to the family at Martha's Book of Memories page at www.j-ofunerals.com.
