Thomas P. "Tommy" Bennett

Thomas P. "Tommy" Bennett, 74, of Bardin passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence after a brave battle with an extended illness.
Born in Jacksonville, Tommy had resided in Palatka (Bardin) for the past nine years coming from Jacksonville. After graduating high school in Michigan and attending college for a time, he served honorably as a United States Marine and was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict.
During his working life, Tommy had been a long-time employee of Sherwin-Williams and later retired from PPG, where he had  worked as an automobile paint salesman in Jacksonville.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had been a member of the Putnam County Hunting Club and Shadow Lawn Hunting Club. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a passionate FSU football fan. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and dearly loved spending time with his family and friends.Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Neven and Annie Bennett; brother, Danny Cavite; and the mother of his children, Phyllis P. Bennett.
Surviving are his wife, Cheri Woodard Bennett; two sons, Kevin Carmichael (Tina) and Kirk Carmichael; two daughters, Kelly Bass (Jonny) and Tommie-Lee Bennett Lehman (Jim); brother, Barry Bennett; seven grandchildren, Melissa Buchanan, Noreen Marullo, Nicholas Carmichael, Justin Bass, John Austin Bass, Hunter Bass, and Dylan Lehman; 10 great-grandchildren; and a niece and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life will be 3 - 6 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Florida Gun & Tackle Club, 9010 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32257 with Darryl and Anita Woodard officiating.
