Vera Hibbs Obituary
Vera L. Hibbs, 87, of Jacksonville (formerly of Palatka) passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, after a long illness.
She retired from Eckerd Drugs (formally Revco) after 20 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Palatka. She enjoyed crafting and being outdoors bird watching, gardening, and taking care of her animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raymond L Hibbs; a grandson, Mitchell L Hibbs; two sisters and a brother.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Holifield of Palatka; a son, Roger (Crispula) Hibbs of Jacksonville; three grandsons, Richard (Melissa) Hibbs of Palatka, Raymond Hibbs of Jasper and Michael Hibbs of Alaska; a great-grandson, Zachary Hibbs of Palatka; a sister, Janetta Phillippi of Jacksonville; a brother, Jesse Laidlaw of Jacksonville; and a great niece of Oregon.
Memorial services will be Nov. 22, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32246. Mrs. Hibbs' ashes will be interred in the family plot at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, FL.
Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery assisted the family.
