Palatka - Alexander Gerald McCreery, 56, of Palatka, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following a brief, but hard-fought illness.
Alex was born the sixth of seven children, all raised in Lantana, Florida. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for K-8, achieving high grade point honors, and Lake Worth High School. Alex later relocated to Palatka, Florida where he met the love of his life, Tracey Lowry McCreery. They were married in St. Monica Catholic Church in 2016. He claimed it was the happiest day of his life. Al was a member of the Pipeline Union Local 798 based in Tulsa, OK and worked along the Northeast coast. He was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed all sports but especially watching the Dolphins play every Sunday. Al's fun and competitive spirit will be missed.
Alex was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Maureen McCreery; two sisters, Kathleen McCreery and Maureen McCreery; and most recently his father-in-law, Jim Lowry.
Alex is survived by his devoted wife, Tracey McCreery; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Brittany Bourgeois; two brothers, John McCreery and Timothy McCreery; two sisters, Eileen (Bill) Tramontana and Maggie McCreery; nieces, Bernadette Ray, Emerald Bradford, Michelle McCreery, Katie Carter and Kaitlyn Lowry; nephew, Daniel McCreery; cousins, Joe McCreery, Susan McCreery, Patrick McCreery and Michael McCreery; also a granddaughter on the way.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 6-8pm (Family only 5-6pm) at Masters Funeral Home, in Palatka. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Palatka, Father Ron Camarda officiating.
