ALPHONSE ALBERT LABONTE Alphonse "Bert" Labonte, age 73, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully on the eve of November 15, 2010 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. Bert was born in Massachusetts on November 5, 1937 to Joseph Labonte and Marie Proulx of Canada. He grew up in the town of Chicopee, MA where he met his wife, Martha,whom he married on July 1, 1961. Bert honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1966. Upon moving to Riviera Beach, FL in 1967, he worked as a construction superintendent for nearly twenty years on such projects as Century Village and the Twin City Mall. Bert loved living a simple life with his loved ones: especially tinkering on projects in his garage, cracking lots of jokes, and fishing with his son. As a loving husband, father, brother, and grandpa, Bert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha Ann Kielb; beloved daughter, Pamela Labonte of Frenchtown, MT; son, Dan Labonte and daughter-in-law, Wendy Labonte of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; brothers, Al Labonte of Palmer, MA, Roger Labonte of Chicopee, MA, Joseph Labonte of New York, NY; sister, Lorraine Venne of Springfield, MA; and grandchildren, Jenna Gillespie, Matt Labonte, Lindsey Schneider, and Lauren Schneider of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Bert was preceded in death by his grandson, William Gillespie; brothers, Roland Labonte and Norman Labonte. To respect Bert's wishes, there will be no services or memorial arrangements.
