Beatrice Fibus-Davis Obituary


Family-Placed Obituary

BEATRICE FIBUS-DAVIS resident of West Palm Beach, Florida, died June 6, 2010 at age 77 after a courageous two-year battle with lymphoma. She was born June 19, 1932, the third of five children to Hungarian immigrants Fannie Berkowitz and Samuel Katz of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She graduated from high school in 1948 and subsequently married Morton Fibus in 1951, who pre-deceased her in 1979 at age 52. She was remarried in 1999 to Paul Benjamin Davis of West Palm Beach, Florida, who died February 21, 2009 at age 100. During her life, she was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, dear friend, and committed wife, as well as an avid reader, history buff, and a wonderful humanitarian. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Levine of Pittsburgh PA, her daughter, Mrs. Pamela Syd Lehman, wife of Scott David Lehman and mother of Max Andrew Lehman and Jesse Samuel Lehman of Miami, FL, her eldest son, Mr. Jeffrey Lee Fibus, husband of Risa Fibus (nee Levy) and father to Mathew Fibus of Atlanta GA, her younger son, Dr. Todd F. Fibus partnered in life to Dr. John T. Brooks of Atlanta GA; and her daughter by marriage, Audrey Coll (nee Davis) mother of Dani, Keith and Ali Coll of Miami FL. The memorial service will be held at 2:15 pm June 8th at the Mount Nebo Kendall Memorial Gardens and Chapel, 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami FL, 33143 (305-274-0641) followed by burial at 3:30 pm at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami FL, 33172 (305-592-0690). Shiva minyan will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday June 8th and Wednesday June 9th at the home of Pamela and Scott Lehman. Pam, Todd and Jeff,

I just returned from vacation to hear the very sad news about your mom. I remember both of your parents with very fond memories. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Bea was a fine woman and friend to me . Her family may grieve her passing but were also very fortunate that her shared life brought so much pleasure to all. She was an unselfish loving person who will be remembered with fond memories. My condolences to her loving family.
