Dr. Francis Maraist was so many things to so many people. He will be remembered as husband, father, grandfather, brother, and Uncle Boze to his family. He will be remembered as not only an amazing surgeon but as a compassionate and caring physician by all who have had the opportunity to be under his care. I can recall so many ways in which he has touched my life. I can recall hot summer mornings at the North Palm Country Club where we would hope to catch him as he was finishing his early swim and we were just starting our days of fun in the sun. I can recall smiling and waving on Sunday mornings at St. Paul. There were always the warmest memories of Christmases with Boze and Ruth at their inviting home. Then there were the wonderful memories of Grandma Maraist coming to visit along with Aunt Rit and Toll and the excitement of the visits to Boze and Ruth's to visit with the entire family. Uncle Boze, in man ways, is responsible for me being here as he brought Mom and Dad together. I can recall the comfort I always felt seeing him around when Dad was sick in the hospital, sometimes making home visits when Mom was sick as well, always the guiding and loving big brother to Dad. He gave me guidance in deciding to become a physician as well. In my practice, I have come across countless patients, physicians, and health care workers who recall Uncle Boze with warm memories and smiles. He will be greatly missed by all that he has left behind but he is Home with his Heavenly Father and his legacy will live on through all he has left behind...Our prayers are with you all...
With love,
Mike, Cayla, Luke, Kaden, and Evan Maraist

I so clearly remember the time when Uncle Boze and Aunt Ruth took my brother Bobby and me to see "Herbie, the Love Bug" when we were little. Over the years I have often thought of that. It is a special memory- something to hold dear through the changing seasons of my life. Nothing can ever take that away from me. The Christmases we spent with Boze and Ruth- what a blessing! I recall the lovely, tall tree at their home in Tequesta. And my dad and Boze happy and laughing. They are together now- happy and laughing. Aunt Ruth, my cousins Audrienne and Tiff and your families- I am so truly sorry for your loss. How well I understand how you feel. We have to remember that now Uncle Boze and my father are healthy and happy, and they are together. We will see them again soon- this I am sure of.

I and my family will affectionately always remember you, Uncle Boze. We have been blessed due to the fact that you introduced my mom and dad on a blind date over 50 years ago during a time when my mother worked with you in the ER. We know you have peacefully learned to experience only pure love and truth as you have met up with your parents and two brothers, including my father, Dr. Robert J. Maraist, in Heaven. We will always know you and remember you as an honorable man devoted to your patients, to your loving family, including Ruth, Adrienne, Tiff and their children, and your Faith in God. We love you, we will always remember you and be thankful, and we pray for peace and love for Ruth, Adrienne and Tiff and their children, uncle Dave and Aunt Ethel.

Ruth, Adrienne, Tiff and all of Uncle Boze's grandchildren,

I am so sorry for your loss. When my Father, Boze's younger brother, was so sick a few years ago, Boze's presence, his kindness and his love shone through and really helped me and my family. Now that I think back, it is my uncle's kindness, love, and gentle humility that I remember most of all over the years. He was a wonderful man whose love could not be contained. And with his chosen profession, he shared his love and his skill with those who really needed it. The Maraist family produced wonderful, loving doctors who touched so many lives that they can not be counted. This world will miss Uncle Boze just as the next world welcomes him.

All our love and prayers to you all.

My Uncle Fran was such a wonderful human being~he was the one who first introduced my Dad to my Mom~back when my Mom was a nursing student and Dad was a young Doctor. We have always felt he was responsible for the lives of all of us, also. Thank you for that. Heaven is a much brighter place now~another Angel~forever in our hearts. We all Love You~~

My dear brother in law...We will all miss you so much. Besides being my beloved friend, you introduced me to you brother (on a blind date)When I was 19, in nursing school. We were married 48 wonderful years. Thank you for many things.
When you worked as a surgeon, your reputation was as an excellent surgeon, but also important is that you had the reputation of one of the nicest people in the world.
Nurses fought about who would scrub in with you.
Later, you voluntered at Jupiter Medical Center as a patient transport helper. Your nametag simply said "Fran" your humility did not include having anyone knowing of your status; your skill.
You are most sadly missed. Your family feels acute pain.
Ruth,Adrienne,Tiff,Jill and your grandsons will forever miss you.Your wife was with you every step of your lives together.
We love you, we miss you. We are at least better knowing you are with your heavenly family. Your reward will be great.
Look down on us. we will look at trees you gave to us, and their flowers, knowing you are enjoying them, as you always have.
Godspeed........May the angels carry you to your reward, Fran.

May God give strength to all your family.

Much Love, Bob's wife, children, and grandchildren.
