Dr. Gale & Patricia "Patti" Stranigan
Stuart - Stranigan, Patricia "Patti" Townsend of Stuart, FL, formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away on November 6, 2020 at the age of 76. Patti was born in Battlecreek MI, the daughter of Venith & Leola Townsend and lived her early life there. After her mother passed her family moved to Palm Beach County. Patti was a graduate of Riviera High School, class of 1962. She married Robert Kettering, they had a son, Michael. Patti & Michael spent many days at the beach and enjoying their life in Florida. Patti later married Gale Stranigan, DDS. They built their dental practice in Lake Park, FL and later Jamestown, NY. They loved traveling, antiquing and gardening. Patti's big love was her cats! She loved her northern home, friends and patients in NY and also enjoyed coming back to Florida for class reunions & visiting friends & family. Patti is survived by her son Michael Kettering (Robin), Angola, NY, stepson Craig Stranigan (Jami), Stuart, FL & 5 step grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Judie Cass & many nieces & nephews, her special cousin Sue Anderson in California and her adopted family- the "Brown family" of NPB. Since her death, Gale Stranigan (her husband), and brother Glen Townend have passed. She is predeceased by her sister Sharon Pilgrim and stepson Bradley Stranigan. Stranigan, Gale DDS of Stuart , FL, formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away on December 23, 2020 at Orchid Cove Rehab Center in Stuart, FL. Gale was born in Jamestown NY the son of George & Mary Oviatt Stranigan. He graduated Southwestern Central High School and attended West Point Military Academy. He received his degree in Dentistry from University of Buffalo. He practiced dentistry in Lake Park, FL and Jamestown, NY retiring in 2018. Gale was a gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him, not only as a DDS, but as a friend with a gentle soul. Gale enjoyed gardening & raising azaleas. His property was a sight to behold in the spring. He was an Anglophile who loved quizzing people on the kings & queens of England. He loved talking & joking with anyone he met. Survived by his son, Craig Stranigan (Jami), Stuart, FL, stepson Michael Kettering (Robin), Angola, NY, his brother Allen Stranigan (Margaret), & sister Madelyn Olson, both of Jamestown and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Stranigan on November 6, 2020; a son Bradley Stranigan on November 3, 2020, and a sister Flora Stranigan. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will not be observed. If you would like to commemorate him, please plant a tree or flowers & practice gratitude every day as he did.
