Gertrude W. EUTSAY

1915 - 2018

EUTSAY, Gertrude W. Gertrude W. Eutsay, born August 13, 1915 in Hawthorne, FL to the parents of Willie and Ethel Walker. She transitioned quietly on October 6, 2018 at Palm Garden of West Palm Beach Rehab Center. For 36 years she was a teacher in the School District of Palm Beach County. As an educator, she taught English at Industrial High School, Palmview Junior High School, Roosevelt High School, and retiring from the former Twin Lakes High School in 1974. Gert became a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1929. She was a member of various organizations including FAMU Alumni Association, Retired Educators of Palm Beach County and a founder and chartered member of the local chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Her survivors are three nieces, Dolores "Bunny" Walker, Linda W. Sampson, and Brenda Burroughs; two nephews, Norman G. Walker (Deloris), and Derek Scruggs (Mayola); two grand nephews, Troy Walker (Regina) and Travis Walker (Andrea); one great-grandnephew, Kyle Walker; two great-grandnieces, Kelsey Walker and Kyndall Walker; one sister-in-law, Elena Walker and many cousins, sorors and friends. Viewing will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Shuler's Memorial Chapel, 5301 N. Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach, 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Celebration of her Life is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00AM, Tabernacle Baptist Church, 801 8th Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Professional services are being rendered by Shuler's Memorial Chapel.
