Mr. Harold Toppel
Boca Raton philanthropist and Pueblo Xtra International founder Harold Toppel had died in California. Toppel was 84. Toppel and his wife Patricia donated millions of dollars to charities and universities that support such causes as childhood development, higher education and pediatric health care in South Florida. In 1997, he and his wife founded the Toppel Family Foundation and they were honored as outstanding philanthropists by the Palm Beach National Society of Fundraising Executives. In 2004, they received the Spirit of Youth Award from the Palm Beach Education Foundation. The Toppels also provided the initial funding for the Champs After School Program, which has been successful in improving the academic success of nearly 4,000 at-risk students at 40 Palm Beach sites.

Dearest Mrs. Toppel,
I today read of the passing of Mr.Toppel. My deepest very belated condolence so many years after, for both yourself and your lovely family. I am still on Long Island and regularly pass the West hampton house. Each time both of you are thought of. Funny the things remembered.
Mr Toppel loved his wine. And gently he could command a table. It was a pleasure to have known both. I am sure he is greatly missed.
I hope life has continued to be kind to you, as I sincerely believe you deserve. Take care.

Best Regards,
Mary Deon

Mrs. Toppel and family,
My utmost apologies for not contacting you sooner. Mr. Toppel has been on my mind, and I just now have found out about his transition. I to have to say that Mr. Tpel was by far one of the most diplomatic and caring as a boss. It was a pleasure for me to have met him and your family and be apart of it at one point in our lives. Dear Pat, Jeffrey, Michael, Jonathan (Happy Birthday this day) and Jennifer,
How quickly time passes but the memories of those who shaped our lives most never leave us. Harold (Mr. Toppel as I will always remember him) was such an influence on my life, as you all were. I think of you all so often and remember your gracious generosity in my youth. May you all know that I am just one person whose life you touched in a lasting way. My much belated condolences with loving memories of a great man.

I realize it has been several years since the loss of Harold and am sorry I did not learn of this earlier. He was, in life, and now he remains in spirit, one of my true heros - a great man with a keen mind and a huge heart, who lived a life guided by love. Belated but sincere condolences to Pat and all the family.

Dear Pop-pop,
Pop-pop you were a great grandfather, I enjoyed my 10 years with you.. I had so many memories. I miss watching football with you in the living room... Or just arriving and seeing you walk down the stairs. I still remember that sleepover we had when i was 4 or 5 and I crawled into bed with you and grammy... It was fun when you and I were playing tennis... You taught me sooo much like how to read the globe,board-games,ext. I will miss you at grandparents day at school and arriving at California and you being outside. Getting ready to go walking with me. I miss your kisses.. Your hugs.. And your voice... I LOVE YOU!!!!!

To Mrs. Patricia Toppel and Family,

My name is Delia D Santiago and worked at Pueblo's Corporate office at 375 Park for few years in the mid 70's .I left after my first child was born, a son. Part of my job was Mr. Harold Toppel's personal accountant . Yesterday, some co-workers and I were talking about the best boss we ever worked with and I told them that mine will always be with Mr Harold Toppel of Pueblo International. Hence, I checked last night on line, see how he's doing. I wish I had looked earlier. I am so sorry to find out that he was gone almost two years.
Mr.H. Toppel was the most generous and
down to earth boss I have ever worked with. And through him I had the privilege of knowing Mrs Pat Toppel even her Mom. I remember Mr. H Toppel excusing himself from a meeting when little Jennifer is on the phone. That's the kind of Dad he was. There were so many fond memories like the Hills Cola test he put us through. I can go on and on but for me the most memorable one was for him to have his Secretary find me so I can have the painting I had above my desk while working at Pueblo. He figured I picked it so I can have it. That was the last time I saw him in person in the mid 80's. The office was still at 375 Park.

Cheers to your well lived life Mr. Toppel! I will Miss you. And Mrs Toppel, because of you my son was the best dressed baby when he left the hospital. Thanks!

Dear Pat, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Michael, Jennifer, Brooke, and Harold's many grandchildren, Please accept my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of meeting Harold and seeing him interact with his lovely grandchildren on two different and rather special occasions. He was the personification of gentleness and loving kindness. My regret is not having met him earlier in his life so I could have enjoyed his many stories, especially his stories of his time in the Army. If I can be of any help, please feel free to call on me.

Harold Toppel was the most loving and giving man. He loved his wife Patricia, children, and grandchildren very much. He was very proud of them all.
I have had several opportunities to see this giant of a man turn into a teddy bear of affection with children. He was a real "gentle"man. He has made an unbelievable mark on this world and he will be sadly missed.
My heart goes out to his family, for such a loss is unimaginable.
Warmest thoughts,
