Family-Placed Obituary
JEREMY E. GOMEZ Age 16, of West Palm Beach passed away after a brief battle with leukemia. He was a life long resident of this area attending Forest Hill High School. He would have started the 11th grade in the fall. Jeremy played saxophone with the Falcon Marching Band, and was a member of the Engineering Academy. Jeremy volunteered, for two years, at SYC - Palm Beach Community College as an intern. His survivors include his parents, Enrique and Kelly Gomez; his sisters, Amelia and Kristen; his grandparents, Bernice Basen and Arturo and Anita Gomez and his great-grandparents, Jesus and Juanita Gomez. He also leaves a host of other family members and an amazing group of friends. His family will receive friends on Friday, July 23 between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home, where his life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 AM. Hey JeremyIt's been a month and one day now, and everyday it gets harder and harder to deal with the pain, and believe that you're gone. I love you so much. I dream about you everynight, and I think about you from the second I open my eyes, until I close them again. I feel you all around me all the time. I know you're always with me, comforting me. I miss you so much. I’ve missed our friendship for years, but never like this. You are all I think about. I am so grateful that I can say that you were one of my best friends. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of people that have said that you were their best friend at one point or another. That doesn’t surprise me because that’s just the type of person that you were. When I learned that you had passed away I couldn’t believe it. When Orlando told me that it was true I still couldn’t believe it. I still can’t. I am going to miss walking past you at school and catching your eye and smiling, happy that you were happy. Thank you for bringing Julia and I back together. There will always be a spot for you in our friendship and in our hearts. You were my best friend. I hope you know that I always have and always will love you.

Jeremy -
I miss you more than you could ever know. You were not only my son, but a friend. We could talk about anything. From the stupid things you would get into to philosophy. As with most of your friends we had lots of inside jokes. Too many to name. This is going to be one of the hardest things I will do in my life. I am so glad that your friends are here. Jeremy will be greatly missed by all! He was a joy to know - always greeting you with a smile and a hug, looking forward to each new experience in life, surrounded by adoring friends. The love and support that the Gomez family has shown should be a model for every family, whether going through a tragedy or not. You are an amazing family, and you are not far from our thoughts. We loved Jeremy, and have only the best memories of him. I bet he still has a pair of glasses stashed somewhere in my West Palm Beach house!
