Family-Placed Obituary

JOHN GREENWOOD, Jr. "Jack" John Greenwood, Jr. "Jack", born August 27, 1929 just shy of his 83rd birthday, passed away August 1, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and served his country in the Army in Korea. While in Pennsylvania, he continued a successful ceramic tile and marble contracting company. In 1983, Jack retired with his wife, Elaine (nee Brown), to South Florida. He enjoyed his 25 years of retirement surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved golfing and fishing, and enjoyed many summers spent in Ocean City, NJ. Anyone who knew Jack knew the love and affection he had towards his family and the way he was adored by them. Jack was preceded in death by his infant son, Gary. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine; three children, John J. Greenwood, Cynthia (Charles) Dunn, and Patrice Greenwood; three grandchildren, Brennan (Deborah) Dunn, Katelyn Dunn, and Megan Dunn, two great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Fiona Dunn; sister Carol (Nick) Lunig, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 4 at St. Lucy's Catholic Church in Highland Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to St. Jude's Research Hospital. Glick Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Too my Dearest Patrice and your entire family, please except my most deeply sentimented and heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your beloved Father. Remembering our conversations...getting to know you and your love and devotion for both your parents, my heart breaks for you all the more. May you and your family be consoled by knowing he's at peace with his maker and may your memories bring you comfort. God Bless you all.
