There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you still. I might see a stranger and he reminds me of you. Here a laugh or song. A father with his small son and I make a wish. So many things still remind me of you.

It was 25 years ago that I had the fortunate opportunity to cross Kirk's path. I was an US Navy Air Traffic Controller stationed on Diego Garcia in 1987, and served with Kirk. I have fond memories of those days on the Island because he served as a mentor to me and to this day I have never forgotten that. As I was searching for Kirk online, to my disbelief I came across his obituary and learned of his passing. I am deeply saddened and shocked over the loss of Kirk. I just wish I would have search sooner, I was really looking forward to talking to him and share some of the great memories we had of Diego Garcia. Rest in peace Kirk, this fellow shipmate will miss you.

With pride I speak your name.
Though life goes on without you, it will never be the same.

Every day is a new day with many promises made and very few kept.Remembering you as it was, is , and might have been is one of happiness , sorrow, and regret. It is a promise made and maintained each and every day.So it goes.

God looked around the garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best.
He knew that you were in pain,He knew that you would never be well on earth again,
He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered peace be thine.

As Father grows older he dreams more of the days gone by. Some of the memories are etched in that corner of his mind as the best of times. Kirk my son you will always be a part that corner. We all miss you for various reasons but this father will always love you for all that was and ache for the things unsaid or done between father and son. There will be a day to join you again in gladness. Until then watch over all your family that loved you so much as the angels watched over you.

Dave and I want you to know how deeply sorry we are for the loss of your father and our friend Kirk.

Although it had been several years since we saw him, we will always
remember the wonderful times we shared when he was whole and happy.

He had a sense of humor and a dry wit laden with sarcasm that was uniquely his and could always make us laugh until we cried.

One thing we can tell you is that from the day you were born, you became his whole life, and he was so very proud of you.

If there is anything we can ever do for you in his honor, it would be our pleasure. Take care of yourself and your mom.

Love in Christ,

Kristen and Dave

Your Family

Each morning when we awake
We know that you are gone
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
And many tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
Your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.

There will always be heartache,
And often a silent tear,
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase,
And heartaches make a lane,
We’d walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again.

We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Kirk, you were born just two days before Christmas so I called you my Christmas Angel. The snow white hair on your head made it look like a halo. Now you are with the Angels in Heaven.
We miss your smile and laughter. You were always kind to others. You always walked with a different drummer but always your own person.
I pray God has his loving arms around you and you are suffering no more. We all miss you and love you very much. You will be with us always.

I adored breathing with you. It was a matchless privilege to be ever the object of your affection. Your spirit shown radiantly through the darkness of the life that was handed you so undeservedly. Peace, now, and grace. I love you and I'll see you soon daddy. A
