Maryellen LEWIS Obituary
Maryellen Howley Lewis passed away peacefully in her home the morning of September 21, 2014. Born in Tampa, FL, on January 29, 1927, she moved to the Palm Beaches with her family at an early age and graduated from St. Ann's High School, Class of 1945. Maryellen was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Patrick and Lyde Howley; brothers, Patrick Jr. and John; sons, Mark and Kevin "K.C."; granddaughter, Brooke; and joins her husband of 64 years, Senator Philip D. Lewis. She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Quattlebaum, Katie Oen, and Jane Fraser; sisters-in-law, Edna Mae Beggrow (Bill) and Joan Howley; her children: Juliana, Paulette (Robby Cashman), Diana, Mary Patricia, Daniel (Elizabeth), Suzanne (Bill Buckland), Neil (Carmen) and Mary G. Lewis; grandchildren, Julia, Mary (Matthew Barnickel), Leah, Luke, Connor, Philip, Kayla, Michael, Breeanna, Christina, Jake, Haley, and Hannah. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at St. Juliana Catholic Church, 4500 S. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33405. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Friday, September 26, at St. Juliana Catholic Church. A private interment will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL. The family requests no food or flowers. MaryEllen exuded inner strength and was a total partner with Senator Phil. He was so proud of her and delighted in telling 'the MaryEllen stories'. We so enjoyed talking and visiting with her on the occasions of our visits to WPB. Her faith was remarkable and an example to follow. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the wonderful Lewis Family.

Maryellen was such a wonderful person. We are so sorry for your loss. I will never forget her kindness and generosity to me and how appreciative she always was of the many cakes she had me make for your family over the years. I remember how much she loved celebrating special occasions with family and friends. I hope those times give you many happy memories to cherish of this very special lady.
