Family-Placed Obituary

MELISSA BRITT LEWIS Lewis, Melissa Britt 39 passed away tragically. Born in Jacksonville, FL she came to the Ft. Lauderdale area in 1980. She was a loving and nurturing person, who became special to all those whom she met. She was an alumnus of Nova Southeastern University Law School. While there, she was editor in chief of the Law Review. She started her legal career as an associate, and progressed to partner at Rothstein, Rosenfeldt, & Adler. She served as an FOP, Labor and Employment attorney. She participated in Leadership Broward, and was a supporter of SOS Orphanage. She had a zest for life, enjoyed attending cooking schools, and became an accomplished gourmet chef. More important was her caring, cheerful nature, and her devotion to her three beautiful nieces. She is survived by her parents, Lisa and Wayne La Pointe of Boynton Beach, sister, Carrie Fisher of Coral Springs, Aunts Lynn (Fred) Haberl of Lakeland, April (Greg) Clark of Jefferson City, TN, dearest friend Debra Villegas of Sunrise, Sister in law Belinda, and cousin Jessica Britt of Clermont, her four legged children George and Gracie, and her father Larry. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street. A funeral service will be held Friday 3PM at the Christian Life Center 2699 W. Commercial Blvd. In her memory memorial donations maybe made in care of Rothstein, Rosenfeldt, & Adler 401 E. Las Olas Suite 1650 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 where a trust fund is being established to support the charities that were close to Melissa's heart. 954 587-6888.
