Michael ARMAND Obituary

ARMAND II, Michael J.
Mikey was granted his angel wings on April 3, 2015 as a result of his battle with Mucolipidosis II (I Cell). Mikey's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His smile, laugh and vibrant personality could melt the hearts of those around him and even those that never met him. Although Mikey's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours playing with his poker chips, Legos and dominoes and loved to woo woo (cuddle). What Mikey lacked in size, he made up for in personality. On March 11, 2015, Congressman Patrick Murphy appointed Mikey the "Ambassador of Spunk" for the 18th Congressional District for the State of Florida for that he represented tenacity and positivity of Florida's 18th District during diplomatic missions and that he offered a model of spunkiness for residents within Florida's 18th District. With Mikey's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him each and every day, especially his winning smile and evanescent giggle, he will forever remain in our hearts as we were able to create wonderful and everlasting memories. We are all humbled by his strong spirit, his will and the life lessons in which he taught everyone to not sweat the small stuff and live your life each day. There is no footprint too small to leave an imprint on this world and that is what Mikey did. He left an amazing legacy. Mikey is survived by his loving parents, Trish Doyle and Mike Armand, and his bonus parents, Terrence Doyle and Melany Armand. Mikey was predeceased by his sister, Olivia Grace Armand (12/21/2004 to 12/11/2009). He is also survived by his sisters Madyson Paige Armand and Samantha Grace Armand; grandparents Frank and Suzi Caprise, Violet Pillen and Bradford Broehm; favorite uncles Scott Armand and "Fwankie" Caprise and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Viewing hours are to be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Palms West Funeral Home, Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in North Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00AM with interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Royal Palm Beach, Florida. A memorial mass for Mikey will be held on Long Island, New York at the end of April. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Olivia Grace Armand Foundation (www.OliviasCookieJar.org) which will award a pediatric nursing scholarship to another I Cell mother.

What a beautiful eulogy! Mikey had many limitations but he evoked love and caring from all who met him. He taught everyone to giggle more and complain less. He was a very lucky little boy to have such a wonderful family that showered him with love. Mikey's footprints will always be on my heart. XOXOX

I had the pleasure of Mikey's smile and spunk at the mall. Not sure what I was seeing, I noticed small cards flinging through the air, just about waist high. Looking for the source of where they were coming from, what do I find but a wide smile and a cute laugh. I had to giggle and shared a laugh with him. He touched my heart. May those cards continue to bring smiles. Shine on my stranger friend.

Although I never met Mikey, I felt as if he I did know him. Watching videos of how happy and loving he was made my day. Although his physical body is gone, his spirit will live on through the smiles of every person who knew him. God speed Mikey, may you rest in peace.
