Family-Placed Obituary
NORMAN THOMAS SHARPE, DDS Norman Thomas Sharpe, DDS, age 82, of Picklesimer Rd., Highlands, NC passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 in a Highlands Cashiers hospital. Born in Palm Beach County, FL he was the son of the late Roscoe Lawrence and Irma Proctor Sharpe. He was a dentist in West Palm Beach, FL and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Quatacker Sharpe; one daughter, Virginia Clair Martin and her husband, Michael of West Palm Beach, FL; two sons, Kenneth Norman Sharpe and his wife, Pam of Atlanta, GA, and Tracy Roy Sharpe and his wife, Karen of West Palm Beach FL; five grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Lisa, Tara and Troy; one great-grandson, Matthew and one nephew, Lawrence Drake, also survive. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 10 at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Incarnation in Highlands with Rev Denson Franklin officiating. A reception will be held Friday following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to a charity of one's choice. Bryant Grant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Dr Sharpe was my dentist for many years, I first went to him when I was 9yrs old. I was raised in foster homes from the time I was 5 to 18yrs old, scared to death going to a dentist. Dr Sharpe made me feel very comfortable. He was a really good dentist as well as a person to everyone. When I go pass 333 Southern Blvd, I always think of him. God Bless Dr Sharpe. I am so very sorry to his family for their great loss. RIP

I am so sad to hear of Dr Sharpe's passing. I got to kow Dr Sharpe when he would come and visit the two Dr's that had taken over his West Palm Beach practice. I never worked for him but I did enjoy his stories when he visited and really got to know him. I think of him often in my day to day duties in a dental office and I have even shared his stories. I still work in West Palm Beach and still see many of Dr Sharpe's patients and the dentistry he did is still functional and beautiful. Dr Sharpe is missed. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I can't remember when I didn't know Norman and I was sincerely sorry to hear of his death. We attended the same schools in Palm Beach County where he was popular with everyone. Later, I was his patient.
As busy as he was he always took the time to stop and chat awhile. Norman was a great guy who will be missed by all who knew him.
